Women Hold Up Half the Sky

"Women Hold Up Half the Sky" celebrates the significant contributions of women in science from ancient to modern times. The installation is composed of two seperate parts. On two large projections, computer generated animations recapitulate the history of women in science. The installation presents stylized views of the women at work in their laboratories, montages of the women's discoveries, and text and quoted elaborating their experiences. On seperate monitors at ground level, alumnae currently engaged in scientific pursuits are showcased.
