Junior QA Release Engineer for Immersive Computer Graphics
Snibbe Interactive (www.snibbeinteractive.com) is seeking a QA release engineer who can design and execute test programs, configure computers and parameters, verify functionality, document interactive systems, archive release software, and install audio visual equipment. This is a unique opportunity for an engineer who also enjoys building projects with metal, wood and other materials. Not only will you be assisting with testing and troubleshooting software, you will also assist with building physical prototypes, install AV equipment, and troubleshoot physical installations. You will work in Snibbe Interactive's San Francisco office with state-of-the-art software systems that incorporate computer graphics and computer vision that allow people to interact physically and socially with one another. You will work directly with our other talented engineers and installations staff and indirectly with the rest of the company's creative and administrative staff.
Snibbe Interactive is a fast-growing company that creates large-scale interactive installations for science museums, public spaces, corporations, and other public and private clients. Our work has unique characteristics of bringing joy, social engagement, and meaning to the everyday lives of ordinary people. Our market is worldwide and includes clients in a number of vertical markets including science museums, branding, entertainment and public art. Some of our recent installations have taken place at San Francisco's Exploratorium, the London Institute of Contemporary Arts, The Tokyo Intercommunications Center, Yahoo Corporation and many others.
Key Skills Required:
- 1+ years of experience
- Demonstrated experience with developing, documenting, and executing automated test suites and test cases
- Programing experience with scripting languages and experience working with C++
- Computer Science Degree
- Ability to QA more than one installation at a time
- Ability to work with audio visual equipment and basic power tools
- Strong English writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- An eye for aesthetic detail
- Wood working experience
Skills and interest in the following areas are also useful:
- Experience with installing audio visual equipment
- Experience troubleshooting networking and drivers
Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, and execute automated test suites and test cases for our interactive installations
- Work with developers to define a test plan and test procedures
- Generate clear and concise bug reports and verify bug fixes
- Document and archive release builds
- Configure, test, and install computers and audio visual equipment for installations
- Configure and install our interactive systems
- Write technical manuals for configuring and installing our interactive systems
- Assist with maintaining inventory of equipment
- Assist with building and troubleshooting physical prototypes
